Professional Training

The Diabetes Society provides Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for health care professionals through hospital workshops, symposiums or camps. Local hospitals contract with the Diabetes Society to conduct workshops for their nursing staff on various topics relating to the acute care of people with diabetes. Symposiums covering the latest diabetes updates are offered every other year for the professional community.

The Diabetes Society is available to offer diabetes education programs to professional groups at their work site.

Diabetes Symposium for Health Professionals

The Diabetes Society sponsors an annual educational program for all health professionals on the 2nd Saturday in November of each year. The goal is to provide professionals to update their knowledge and skills of diabetes self-management. CME's and CEU's are available. What's New

Camps Filling Up Fast!

Registration for 2010 summer camps opened this month and some programs are filling up very fast or are already full. The Lake Tahoe Weekend Family Camp and San Jose Day Camp are already full. Camp De Los Ninos is almost full. We are happy to say that there are still openings at Teen Camp DJ, Johnson Youth Camp, and other camps. We look forward to receiving your registration forms soon!

We are now adding names to the waiting lists for full programs: due to last-minute cancellations, we are often able to add campers from the waiting lists.

Diabetes Society Camp registration opened March 1

The Diabetes Society has received many calls and emails asking about our 2010 camp programs- great news, camp season is here! As you may have heard, the Diabetes Society has been undergoing a fiscal restructuring, so we've had to reevaluate our camp programs. This year we won’t be offering all of the camps we’ve offered in previous years, but we’re happy to announce that we’ll still be offering a great variety of educational and fun camping programs for kids, teens, and families living with type 1 diabetes.

Camp Kaiser

The Diabetes Society in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Hospital is sponsoring Camp Kaiser for teens 10 to 17. Campers must be members of Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento.
