Dynamics of Diabetes
Part of the comprehensive Diabetes Education Program
A comprehensive one-day course covering the principles of diabetes self-management including the causes, effects and types of diabetes mellitus, diabetes medications and regimes, self-blood glucose monitoring, signs, symptoms and treatment for hypo/hyperglycemia, sick day guidelines and emotions. Also covered are the prevention and delay of acute and long-term complications, resources and support groups, nutrition (including when and what to eat, label reading, dining out, etc.), stress management, updates on diabetes research and much more.
- Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
- Location: Diabetes Society, 1165 Lincoln Ave. Ste 300, San Jose, CA. 95125
- Dates: This one-day class is offered on most first three Thursdays of the month and the third Saturday of April, June, August, October and December. Please call at least 24 hours in advance to confirm or cancel registration.
