Parents, if you've been looking for a diabetes camp that is exciting, affordable, educational, yet not too time consuming for your family, we have a weekend camp for you. Family Camp runs from Friday evening to early Sunday afternoon, and is the perfect place for family fun and relaxation. The fully enclosed wooden cabins nestled in the trees make for a charming home away from home. Diabetes education is offered throughout the weekend for both parents and children. Come join families from all over California who participate in our camps.

New for 2010: We are sorry, but the Diabetes Society will not be offering Santa Cruz Family Day Camp or Hillblom Family Camp in 2010.

Lake Tahoe Family Camp

Located on the southern shores of Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Family Camp is surrounded with acres of forested mountain terrain and beautiful sandy beaches. Families can explore the hiking trails through the forest, swim, boat or just relax by the lake, plus the opportunity to learn more about diabetes and other families living with diabetes.

Location: South Lake Tahoe.
Date: September 10-12, 2010.
Cost: $120 per person over the age of 3. The camp fee includes meals, snacks, cabin accommodations, and diabetes education materials.
Activities: Experience family fun through nature hikes, creating arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, and archery. Group and individual activities are scheduled throughout the day and participants may choose from these events and activities. Some basic concepts in diabetes management and control are presented. Evening campfire programs include group singing, skits, and other fun activities.
