Educational Diabetes Camping Program

Since 1974, the Diabetes Society has sponsored camping programs in California for children with diabetes. These camps provide an opportunity for children and young adults with diabetes to go to camp, meet others in their age group similarly with diabetes and gain a better understanding of diabetes The total experience can help campers develop more confidence in their ability to effectively control their diabetes while enjoying traditional camping experiences.

2009 Camping Season Update

Camp registration is now open and the 2009 Camper Registration Form is now available for download here. Note: Registrations sent to our office on 2008 forms will not be accepted.

If you are on our camp mailing list, the 2009 brochure and registration form will come to you automatically in the mail once we open registration. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact the Camp Department.

The "Quilt for Life" at Camp De Los Niños

This year at Camp De Los Niños our campers and staff had the wonderful opportunity to create a quilt square for the Children With Diabetes "Quilt for Life"! This is a national effort by Children With Diabetes to share the personal side of Type 1 diabetes, while increasing diabetes awareness and advocacy. If you'd like to see the square in person, the Quilt is displayed at its entirety at the annual Children with Diabetes Friends for Life conference in Orlando each year.
