Larry L. Hillblom Youth Camp - Ages 8 to 12

Located outside of Kings Canyon National Park, the landscape around this camp is studded with the largest of living things, the Giant Sequoia trees. Some of these trees are more than 3,000 years old. Campers can explore the forest, hang out on the lake, rappel down huge boulders, have an exciting adventure on an overnight campout, plus have the opportunity to learn more about diabetes, themselves, and others living with diabetes.
- Location: Sequoia Lake, 50 miles east of Fresno.
- Date: July 13-19, 2008.
- Cost: $25. The camp fee includes round-trip bus transportation from the Diabetes Society office to camp, meals, cabin accommodations, camp picture, T-shirt, and diabetes education materials.
- Transportation: Free round-trip bus transportation from the Diabetes Society office to camp is available. Parents providing their child's own ground transportation to camp need to notify the Diabetes Society.
- Activities: Physical activities include backpacking, field sports, boating, volleyball, climbing wall, archery, and fishing. In addition, there is time for quiet activities, crafts, and nature study. Some basic concepts in diabetes management and control are presented. Evening campfire programs include group singing, skits, and other fun age-appropriate activities.
Camp De Los Niños - Ages 6 to 13

Camp De Los Niños is located just off of scenic route Highway 9 in the beautiful redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Join youth from all over California for a week of fun, educational activities and programs. Develop skill in the ancient sport of archery, rock climb up a wall, be creative with arts and crafts. Do it all while having a positive experience learning how to manage your diabetes. This is an experience that will last a lifetime.
- Location: Santa Cruz Mountains.
- Date: August 10-16, 2008.
- Cost: $25. The camp fee includes round-trip bus transportation from the Diabetes Society office to camp, meals, cabin accommodations, camp picture, T-shirt, and diabetes education materials.
- Transportation: Free round-trip bus transportation from the Diabetes Society office to camp is available. Parents providing their child's own ground transportation to camp need to notify the Diabetes Society office.

Teen Cruise Camp - Ages 13 to 17

Experience the beauty of the Mexican Baja Peninsula as we explore sunny Ensenada, Mexico. You'll find glistening beaches just right for a leisurely stroll. Visit Ensenada's rugged coast and marvel as Las Bufadora, a natural geyser, sprays water 50 feet into the air. Browse the shops along Avenida Lopez Mateos for colorful Mexican blankets and Aztec art. Practice the art of bargaining down prices. Also included in the experience is a visit to the historic town of
- Location: Los Angeles to Baja Mexico.
- Date: June 16-20, 2008.
- Cost: $650- $100 discount if registered by Dec 31, 2007. A deposit of $100 will reserve your space for this camp. Balance due by April 15, 2008. The camp fee includes meals, cabin accommodations, round-trip ground transfer to/from port, and diabetes education materials.
- Transportation: Parents providing their child's own ground transportation to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) need to contact the Diabetes Society office to make special arrangements. All air travel MUST be made through the Diabetes Society for teens flying into LAX.
- Activities: Shipboard activities include swimming, hot tubs, volleyball, shuffleboard, dancing, aerobics and exercise equipment. In addition, there is time for quiet activities. Some advanced concepts of diabetes management are taught each day by our medical staff.

In addition, there is time for quiet activities, crafts, and nature study. Concepts in diabetes management and control are presented. Evening campfire programs include group singing, skits, and other fun age-appropriate activities.
Camp Kaiser - Ages 10 to 17

The Diabetes Society in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Hospital is sponsoring Camp Kaiser for teens 10 to 17. Campers must be members of Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento.
Campers can explore the hiking trails throughout the camp wilderness, participate in crafts, games, sports, campfires, swimming and archery. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about diabetes and get to know other teens living with diabetes.
Camp medical staff is trained through Kaiser Permanente under the direction of Sobha Kollipara, M.D. and the pediatric diabetes care team.
- Location: Camp Leoni Meadows
- Date: June 13 – 15,2008
- Cost: $10 – includes transportation, meals, activities, t-shirt, cabins and diabetes education and supplies.
- Transportation: Round trip bus transportation will depart from and return to the main parking lot of Kaiser Permanente Medical Group-Sacramento. For directions to this location, please call during regular office hours: Kaiser General Information (916) 973-5000.

Please contact the Diabetes Society Camp Department if you have any questions. - Eligibility: Teens with diabetes age 10 through age 17, who are enrolled in the Kaiser Permanente program in Sacramento and have received medical clearance from their doctor and camp medical director.
